Jessica by
Leslie Hollingsworth - Window Light Portrait
This
workshop is designed to help the portrait photographer fine tune their skills. We will be
doing outdoor, window light, and studio lighting techniques in this course. You may bring your own models
of all ages and sizes (Child models of all ages can attend the
Saturday or Sunday sessions, but please have a parent or guardian that is
not enrolled in the class attend with them). Since this is an April class, you can also do
Spring or Easter themed portraits in the class. With the use of your 35mm SLR camera and color negative
film or digital cameras and memory cards, we hope that you will be able to capture unique images of your family,
friends, or our models that you
will be proud of for years to come.
The
timeline for this workshop will be as follows:
9:00-12:30 Meet
at the school and then go on location and
take photographs with your

also cover how to compose your subjects, what backgrounds to avoid, what
backgrounds work, and how to
select the best light for your subject. You will also learn how to use the gray card or
incident light meters to get perfectly exposed images.
12:30-1:30 Lunch
Break- If shooting film, have your film processed, printed, and scanned at a one hour processing lab
by the instructor if you are shooting film. Digital images will not be
printed and they will be digitally viewed at the
school.

window lighting and
outdoor
portraits with late
afternoon light.
5:00-6:00 Have all
your images

may send images to our models, and we will continue our discussion to find out where to
get equipment and we will also review other famous portrait photographer's work.
Sunday

setting up a home studio or using artificial lighting on a photoshoot one

equipment, props, and how to do different studio lighting setups. We will be
setting up different colored backdrops and a variety of lighting setups ( to
see how the backgrounds will react), and different models. We will be taking
images under all the different setups.
